Ideas to inspire

Chris Cortese has been making handmade items for many years, and her latest line of products have been created especially for pets. "What really prompted me to create a line of pet products was Art of the Pet founder, Tami. I responded to her inquiry on Facebook, and I'm excited to be part of this unique opportunity", says Chris.
One of Chris’s main reasons for joining Art of the Pet is to honor her beloved dog, Barkley. He was just six months old when he came to live with her family, and fourteen years later – after living a great life and bringing so much joy to the family –it was his time to rest. It’s in Barkley’s memory that Chris decided to create a product line dedicated especially to dogs.
Chris's business, KrazyMindsDesigns, offers carefully crafted handmade pet products made with colorful, contemporary materials. Included in the range are soft toys shaped like bones, hearts, and stars, trendy bandanas that attach to a dog's collar, stylish dog jackets, handcrafted dog collars and coordinated leashes, and comfy dog slings. Chris also creates items that can be customized with your pet's name, including bath mitts and Christmas ornaments.
The creative process of coming up with new designs is especially important to Chris, and she takes her inspiration from a wide variety of sources.
"Inspiration is all around us, you just have to notice it and see where it takes you. Sometimes it's a piece of fabric that's been discarded, or a new piece of fabric just waiting to be used for something awesome," she explains.
KrazyMindsDesigns pet products are truly unique, one-of-a-kind items, and Chris's passion for making them really shines through. "I've always tried to find different products to make. I feel that the color of fabrics and the care I take to create unique items really makes them special," says Chris.
“Our product line combines fun and upcycled materials and fabrics that you won’t find anywhere else. We’re passionate about creating great handmade products for people and pets to enjoy,” she says.
When she's not hard at work making handmade products, Chris loves to read craft magazines, spend quality time with friends and family, and cheer madly for her favorite Boston sports teams. In the future, she'd like to expand her handmade business and teach new crafters to follow their dreams.
